Staff & Volunteers

Caring with Compassion. Serving with Excellence.

The Good Shepherd Free Medical Clinic of Laurens County is an interdenominational Christian mission providing free medical care, medications, and pastoral support to Laurens County residents who are without government assistance, private insurance, or the financial resources to afford such care.  It is our intention to promote the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of all those who need our care.

Our Story

With fine leadership, gracious volunteerism and the support of the community,

the Good Shepherd Free Medical Clinic provides a solution

to an unmet need in Laurens County.

The Clinic began as the vision of Mr. Jim Roberts in 1994.  In October, 1999, Cindy Perry was hired as the clinic's first executive director,

and retired in June of 2020.

Beth Hinson now serves as the Executive Director of Good Shepherd Free Medical Clinic.

Our Volunteers

This is our dedication to the volunteers here at Good Shepherd Free Clinic.

The staff, patients, and volunteers of Good Shepherd would like to recognize Dr. H. Byron Parker and thank him for his many years of service to the clinic. His gentle and caring spirit along with his gifted expertise have made him an invaluable part of our team. While he retired from his own practice many years ago, he still maintained a commitment to volunteering with us several days a month. He has now chosen to retire completely and devote his time to his family and his gardening. The Good Shepherd will continue its mission to provide quality health care to its patients, but replacing this provider will not be easily achieved.  Thank you, Dr. Parker, for everything you have meant to us.
